On October 30, 2013 Alec "Mickey" McMorris was helping a cousin who had gotten in a car accident in Parley's Canyon when a truck hit black ice. What the highway patrolmen presume happened next is the truck clipped Alec's leg as he tried to jump out of the way, severely damaging this leg, and sent him flying roughly 20 feet. His right leg is severely damaged with 4 inches of his femur bone missing.

Alec is now at University of Utah Hospital. He is currently on a ventilator and stable. To fix the aorta problem the doctors put in a stint that will stay in his heart for the remainder of his life, this shouldn't cause him any discomfort or problems. They are keeping him sedated anywhere from 24-48 hours to give his body some time to calm down. There is an ENT (Ear Nose and Throat specialist) coming in to work on his tongue tomorrow which at this point we do not know the extent of the damage there. One of his front teeth is only slightly chipped. The biggest concerns right now are infection and internal bleeding which they will monitor very closely. Please continue to pray for Alec and our family.
